Over the past couple of months, Casa Bacardi, in association with My Kolkata, has been giving the city a splendid set of nights, circling house, EDM, Bollywood, commercial and hip-hop music. On August 19, the party came to One8 Commune as Casa Bacardi x Progressive Brothers took place for the penultimate time. Having Sunny Sharma of the duo DJ act Progressive Brothers perform at the venue was like a breath of fresh air. While we missed his bandmate Karan Bhalla, Sunny sure made us feel like he was carrying the energy for both.
The crowd at one8 Commune partied late into the night
Other than playing a mixed genre set, which was melodic and bass-heavy in different parts, he even tricked the audience with surprising drops and exaggerated suspense. Imagine looping the lyrics of a song to turn it into a build-up and then dropping the intro of Ishq Tera Tadpave. Well, Sunny did that, and the audience was loving every second of it.
The lasers and lights added to the party atmosphere
Casa Bacardi has been on tour ever since June 24 with Julia Bliss. From there, the platform has hosted a series of parties all around the city, sharing different music in different corners. Their last leg of the tour will take place in Nocturne on Theatre Road, where Bollywood DJ Omen will man the console. The event, hosted in association with Decible Events, will take place on August 26.

Lasers, hues of light and a packed crowd — the One8 Commune gig at the Ho Chi Minh Sarani address gave people major concert feels.
Local DJ Nishal (in picture) opened for the main act and he played a smooth hip-hop set. Resident DJs Josh and Dibesh were the acts before him.
Techdrone (left, foreground) was on closing duty for the night… with a surprise! City-based DJ Freddy (right, background), joined Techdrone for an impromptu back-to-back set.
Just like the other Bacardi events, this event too had only Bacardi liquor at the bar. Along with all the fun cocktails, the entire place was decked up for a fun party with lit-up and interactive decor items.
Sunglasses were the theme of the night as they not only looked cool but also kept the eyes protected from the flashy lights.
