Nagpur-based cartoonist-illustrator Rohan Chakravarty to conduct cartooning workshop in Ballygunge

The workshop aims to help kids understand A-Z of cartooning, starting from the basics like how to create their own comic strip from scratch using simple shapes

Following the release of his new book Pugmarks and Carbon Footprints, Nagpur-based cartoonist-illustrator Rohan Chakravarty is conducting a cartooning workshop titled Pencil-smudged Pugmarks at Storyteller Bookstore in Ballygunge (Vrindavan Apartments, 67A Ballygunje Circular Road, Flat 3 C, 3rd Floor- opposite Tivoli Court ) on August 19.

Speaking to t2, Rohan said, “I will be teaching participants to deconstruct a cartoon from the book and draw it using their own styles and characters. Participants will learn all the basics of cartooning in two hours and they do not need any special preparation for taking part in the workshop.”

The workshop aims to help kids understand A-Z of cartooning, starting from the basics like how to create their own comic strip from scratch using simple shapes. They will also learn how to portray the character’s body language, gestures and facial expressions, besides drawing background and props. They will also pick up tips on framing and perspectives and how to write punchlines.
