The Indian Golf Union (IGU) East Zone Junior Feeder Tour 2023 reached its thrilling climax at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) grounds between December 18 and 19. With high stakes in the final leg, players showcased exceptional skill and determination, vying for the coveted top spots in the year’s Order of Merit. The event witnessed intense competition across categories, promising a bright future for golf in the region.

Ahaan Gupta finished top with 376 points in the A & B Boys’ categories, Arghya Shah finished top with 371 points in the B Boys’ category, and Andrew Baid finished top with 427 points in the C Boy’s category. The top five of the Order of Merit from A & B Boys, B Boys and C Boys qualify for the main tour of IGU.
The event’s pinnacle was the outstanding victory of Manan Bagrecha, who clinched the title in both the A & B Boys’ and B Boys’ categories with a score of 177 over two rounds. Ananya Uday Sagane claimed the second spot in A & B Boys’ with a score of 179, while Arrham Jain secured the runner-up position in the B Boys’ category with a score of 180.

In the C Boys’ category, Aranyak Chakraborty showcased his brilliance, recording the best score of 157 and earning the title. Hredaan Raj Bihani secured the second position with a score of 167. Arkoprovo Chaudhury dominated the D Boys’ category with a score of 178, while Shaurish Sen claimed the runner-up spot with a score of 186.
The C & D Girls’ category witnessed Nahida Parvin’s stellar performance, securing victory with a score of 198, followed closely by Vaanya Rustagi with 215 points. Parikshet More emerged triumphant in the E Boys’ category with a score of 93, with Aayansh Prasad securing the runner-up spot at 116. In the E Girls’ category, the winner was Ahana Khaitan with a score of 92, while Aaira Khaitan claimed the runner-up spot with a score of 113.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the president of the Bengal Golf Association, Anil Bhargava, who presented accolades to the exceptional talents. Speaking at the ceremony, Bhargava expressed his admiration for the dedication and skill displayed by the young golfers and highlighted the significance of nurturing such talent for the sport’s future.
