Kolkata’s Jashan Shah wins The Bengal Amateur 2024

The competition was intense across categories at FWEPTA

Jashan Shah, from Kolkata, won the fifth leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour 2024, known as The Bengal Amateur. The tournament happened at FWEPTA, Kolkata, between May 11 and 12. Jashan shot 12 over par 152 (77 and 75), securing the top spot in the Amateur category. Basudev Bhokta from Assam came second with a score of 155, just three strokes behind Jashan.

In the mid-amateur category, Col. N.S. Rawat won with a score of 18 over par 158. G. Suresh Sharma from Manipur came second with a score of 169. Rajahmundry’s B.V. Srihari Rao won the Senior category with a score of 173, while Capt. Rana Chatterjee topped the Super Senior category with a score of 189. In the Nett division, Col. N.S. Rawat claimed victory with a score of 142, followed by G. Suresh Sharma in second place with a score of 145.

The tour’s education partner is The Champ for Life Academy. The outdoor media partner is Balaji Ads, and the online proshop partner is Golfedge. Bisleri has come in as the water partner for this season. Keventer, Eastern India’s largest FMCG company, is the tour sponsor and provided players with juices and milkshakes. Additionally, Reliable Group is a sponsor. The tour is managed by Protouch Sports.
