J.D. Birla Institute’s department of textile science, clothing and fashion studies hosted the graduating fashion show on April 25 at Raas Manch, Swabhumi. The graduating show project comprises collections showcasing distinctive designs created by graduating students. Every garment was made by the students under the guidance of their teachers, starting with designing, pattern making, draping, stitching and finishing. This project serves as a platform for all the upcoming designers to experiment and develop their abilities in the fashion world. The students were inspired to create unique and imaginative garments for the collection. They drew inspiration from out-of-the-box themes like Lego, Timeless Glam, Zero Gravity, All Flutter, Poised in Polka, The Kimono Triumph and Colours of Life.

“I’ve been a part of this department for a long time. It’s really nice to see students perform so well after coming out of the pandemic shackles. All these garments were designed at our campus by the students themselves under their mentors’ instructions. I’m glad how beautifully the students have come out with this collection and the hard work they have done these last days. I hope everyone appreciated the hard work of the students,” said Dr Deepali Singhee, principal of J.D. Birla Institute.
