On August 18, ILSS (Indian Life Saving Society) celebrated 100 years of foundation of the club with a glittering fashion show that saw members of the club walk the ramp. The first sequence of the show was a tribute to the late singer KK and it saw the ladies walk the ramp in indigo and denim dresses with props like white candles and carnations, with the singer’s popular tracks Kyun aj kal phir and Pal playing in the background. The second sequence was a couple’s round where both men and women walked the ramp to Tomay hridh majhare rakhbo and Maanhari. In this sequence women wore Indo-western dresses designed by Shikha’s Designer Studio and men wore linen shirts in pastel shades and denim designed by Angorag.

The third round was a standout performance by the senior club members, called the Zamindari Babu Culture sequence, where the women wore traditional Benarasi, kanjeevaram and swarnachuri saris adorned with gold jewellery and the men were in dhoti and traditional long panjabi from Sreehan’s Designer Studio, with gajra in their hands . They walked the ramp to the rhythm of Nidhubabur Tappa by the late Ramkumar Chattopadhyay. There was also a post-Independence sequence with songs such as Jai ho and Ma tujhe salaam.
