In his welcome address, N.G. Khaitan, president, IIGTF, stated: ‘West Bengal has historically played a pivotal role as a gateway to Southeast Asia and neighbouring countries. Today, it continues to thrive as a commercial powerhouse, handling a substantial share of India’s cross-border trade. Besides, the state’s robust infrastructure and emerging industries in textiles, leather, and IT services, reinforce its position as a vital commercial and logistical centre’
