In pictures: A furry affair at Woofs and Wags’ third birthday bash

The pawsome babies had a great time at the party, receiving lots of attention from pet lovers

On January 31, Woofs and Wags celebrated its third birthday with a delightful cake-cutting ceremony and engaging activities for the invited pets and their parents. The Pet spa and creche is located on Tapan Chowdhury Avenue behind Menoka Cinema. In the spirit of giving back, Woofs and Wags marked their third year by contributing rice and blankets to Ashari and Ashray, two organisations dedicated to helping stray animals

Mohan and Seema seemed really happy with Vayu, their two-year-old special baby. “Vayu met with an accident and can’t use his hind legs ever since. Woofs and Wags has been a big help because now we can travel without worrying, knowing that Vayu and our other three dogs are well taken care of here,” said Seema, who is also a parent to four rescued cats

Since they started in 2021, Woofs and Wags has become the preferred choice for over 600 clients and happy pet parents. It’s the place to go if you need somewhere for your dogs to stay when you travel or if you want to groom your furry friends. As part of the activities, there was a ramp, some hurdles, a zig-zag cone walk and a tunnel to keep the doggos entertained. While most of the dogs enjoyed mingling with each other, the two-year-old Bruno, a golden Labrador, made an attempt at the ramp with his parent A. Dutta

Attreyee Chatterjee (left) , an animal behaviourist and professional groomer who owns  the pet spa and creche, makes sure that her staff, including pet parents, are well-versed in handling dogs and understanding their behaviour. This ensures that all the dogs coming in for grooming receive top-notch treatment along with love and affection. During the celebration, Attreyee expressed her appreciation by honouring her staff, including manager Sourav Guin (right)

Rudy, the cheerful black Labrador, wore a constant smile throughout the event and gladly offered pawshakes to anyone who approached to pet him. Despite winning a hamper, the slobbery two-and-a-half-year-old seemed indifferent to the prize, as his main focus was to receive continuous pets and attention

Bruno, the three-year-old Golden Retriever, arrived looking well-groomed and couldn’t contain his joy at the sight of so many people. A fluffy bundle of energy, he kept his tail in constant motion, happily posing with anyone willing to pet him. Burno had the biggest smile that could melt anyone’s heart

Mango, a white Labrador, who also turned three, was the special guest of the day. He had a cake-cutting ceremony in front of all his furry friends. However, he seemed completely disinterested in anything else, with his attention solely fixed on the cake. Mango almost jumped onto the table to get a taste of his birthday cake before his father could even cut a slice

Coffee, the Shih Tzu from the same family as Mango, felt a bit let down by all the attention Mango was getting. Thankfully, Coffee's mood brightened when he won another hamper. He was genuinely thrilled when he and his father, Samriddha Ganguly, went to claim his prize. Coffee broke into a big smile, sticking out his tongue in excitement
