No celebrities, just champions: IHM Kolkata welcomed true heroes to the ultimate cake-mixing bash on December 12, at their Taratala campus

People from the health sector, police, armed forces, journalists, columnists and advocates were felicitated for their contribution to society
Festive harmony unleashed: IHM Kolkata’s Taratala Campus echoed with Christmas carols, kicking off the season of generosity, joy, and love

Principal Raja Sadhukhan acknowledged Rita Mitra, head of department, IHM Kolkata, for outstanding contributions to the institution
The heroes were then called to participate in the cake-mixing ceremony
Briefing My Kolkata about the ingredients used for the cake-mixing, lecturer and chef Subhadip Saha said, “There are almost 200 kg of dry fruits here with special spices like cardamom and cinnamon, besides our secret spice. We have spirits like wine, rum, brandy and scotch. These cakes will be baked by us and distributed among the well-wishers of the institute, students and staff. Anyone willing to purchase can buy at the cost price. There will be no-profit margin”
The event was managed by students, in various batches, who put their hospitality training to practise serving the guests with specially curated food and drinks
Children at the event enjoyed the Christmas spirit while Santa of IHM kept the guests entertained
Sharing the inspiration behind the event, Raja Sadhukhan, Principal of IHM Kolkata, expressed, “We aimed to infuse deeper significance into the cake-mixing session. What better way than expressing our gratitude to those tirelessly serving society? This event provided a remarkable opportunity for the institute to honour the true heroes among us”
