The Saturday Club Cricket League held in association with t2 set the stage for a weekend of cricketing action that saw enthusiasts of the game locking horns to win the coveted trophy. The teams battled it out in this highly competitive tournament featuring a dynamic eight-over format, with around 200 participants. While the men’s teams showcased their cricketing prowess and bowling manoeuvres, creating an atmosphere of charged excitement, the women’s teams exhibited exceptional skills that challenged stereotypes and proved their mettle in every match. Last but not least, the three children’s teams, with their youthful enthusiasm, added an element of fun to the competition that beautifully captured the essence of the sport.
Good food and music strengthened the bonds of friendship among members. Following the intense battle, the event concluded with an award ceremony that recognised the outstanding performances of the members. t2 gets you a few glimpses of the enthralling and fun-filled day.
Ollypop, the first runner-up from the women’s category receive theiraward from the sports convenor Vinesh Hira.
Aalya Agarwal, the Captain of the first runners-up, Ollypop won multiple awards including Best Bowler, Best Batswoman, Most Valuable Player, and Woman of the Match. She said: “People throw stones at you, convert them into sixes, with a smile."
Roaring Lions were declated the champions in the men's category.
