Amit Aggarwal put together a high-octane show of statement dressing at Lakme Fashion Week, in partnership with FDCI, in Mumbai. A set of lights on the ramp lent it the cool of Star Wars. And, in walked Amit’s models. And out, almost like a march. The choreography at the realme X Amit Aggarwal show was one of its high points, lending it the X factor. As were the clothes. Hot, hot, hot. Signature Amit.

From futuristic whites to blacks and silver, it looked tailor-made for the red carpet, a melange of fluid beauty and structured power. A play of prints and patterns, Onyx was all about sharp dressing. The statement accessories added to the oomph.

Post-show, Amit chatted with The Telegraph on:

The mood: I think the mood was very sexy, as I would call it. I think clothes are definitely evolving in two different spaces today. I think you would also want to experience fun while you are wearing the sexiest of outfits. I think that’s what this collection was about.

The accessories: They were fluid and yet structured. There were long earrings for men that kind of moved with them. It was actually something that could be shared by both men and women. I really like how the metallic twist-y thing went into the ear, a soft malleable metal, hand-moulded. I think accessories were an important part. They were subtle, but I also think it added a little edge. We had an embroidered sock shoe.

The choreography: I wanted it to feel so on the edge, so powerful... I wanted the entire idea of the human race to come about. I think we are all in motion, all of us and that was the idea of the choreography. I discussed with Anu (Ahuja) that I wanted them to walk non-stop. I wanted the line-up to look like the show.
