The day of freedom is delayed by three days in Nadia because on August 15, 1947, the flag of Pakistan was raised instead of the flag of India at the public library ground of Krishnanagar in Nadia district. Three days later, Nadia got Independence and hence, it celebrates Independence Day on August 18
