Griffins International School celebrated sixth annual function on December 2 and 3

Students took part in the two-day extravaganza with themes of sustainability and heritage

The Griffins International School, Kharagpur celebrated its sixth annual function with zeal on December 2 and 3. While the theme for the first day was ‘Sustainable Goals’, on the concluding day, students showcased the ‘Rich Cultural Heritage of Bengal’.

Students depicted common environmental problems plaguing the earth through their performances on the first day and through skits and songs, they staged the state’s rich contribution in sports, performing arts and literature on December 3. They also paid homage to several unsung heroes of the freedom struggle.

While chief guest Dinesh Kumar, superintendent of police, Paschim Medinipur; and guest of honour Rintu Banerjee, head of department, Agriculture and Food Engineering, IIT Kharagpur; graced the occasion on the opening day; M S Hashmi, divisional railway manager, Kharagpur division South Eastern Railway; and Somesh Kumar, Department of Mathematics, IIT Kharagpur; were present on the concluding day.

Around 160 students were felicitated for their academic excellence, outstanding performance in external competitions and 100% attendance.

The school’s chairman and academic director, Abhishek Kumar Yadav, emphasised on the diverse legacy of Bengal and how every individual should contribute towards maintaining it. He also appreciated the efforts of the staff members and participants for hosting the event successfully.
