Golf thrives in a new format through the Electrosteel Golf Skills Series

The second edition of the Electrosteel Golf Skills Series or the Electrosteel Members Skills Competition 2023, presented by Tollygunge Club in association with Axis Bank Burgundy Private, took place on July 1 at the Tolly Golf Centre. A total of 13 teams, each comprising six players, participated in the event. The skills challenge saw active participation from 78 members of Tollygunge Club.

The competition aimed to showcase the golfing abilities of the club's members, providing them with an opportunity to display their skills in the chipping and putting aspects of the game. It was a test of accuracy, precision and strategy, designed to enhance the golfing experience for all participants. The Tolly Golf Centre served as the perfect venue for this thrilling event, providing a challenging yet enjoyable environment for the players. The golf centre’s design presented a variety of obstacles and opportunities for the participants to exhibit their talent.

In the thrilling final of the competition, Team 3, composed of Gaurav Ghosh, Armaan Bhoopal, Luv Jhingan, Mayukh Ray, Oona Khanna and Rudraksha Banerjee, faced off against Team 7, featuring Sreyon Chatterjee, Vikramjit Singh, Deep Banerjee, Sheena Rawla, Subhojit Nag and Ved Somaiya. Ultimately, Team 7 emerged victorious, securing the championship title.

During the prize distribution ceremony, the golf captain of Tollygunge Club, Deep Banerjee, and GC member Vandana Agarwal were present to hand out the awards to the deserving winners of the event. Their presence added to the excitement and prestige of the occasion. Deep Banerjee expressed his gratitude to all the participants, sponsors and organisers for making the competition a success. With such events, the club aims to promote and encourage the sport of golf among its members, fostering a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.

The successful execution and management of the event were credited to Protouch Sports, who ensured smooth operations and a memorable experience for all participants.
