Doctor divas of the DNSK group dazzled in ochre yellow saris and celebrated autumn as Dr Rupali Basu, the chairperson of the Doctors and Sarees Group Kolkata, hosted a beautiful event, Alokita Sundaram, recently at ITC Royal Bengal for members of the sari-loving group. The mood was upbeat all along as the doctors caught up with each other, posed for individual profiles and group pictures, took numerous groupfies and danced to the music of the DJ. The doctors glowed in their yellow saris paired with tone-on-tone matching blouses, especially against a backdrop of dark yellow chrysanthemums on a green base. Matching potlis, co-ordinated hair and jewellery added to the glitter all around.

If Alokita Sundaram celebrated autumn, another event that followed soon after was all about revelling in the spirit of the festive season, particularly Durga Puja. Seventy doctors dressed in the quintessential red-and-white saris attended another gala by the Doctors and Sarees Group Kolkata on October 15 at Swabhumi, ushering in the festivities with song and dance, posing for that perfect profile picture and savoured some authentic Bengali food to top it off. The event was called Divyata Simanti and the doctors swayed to songs like Dugga elo and Dhak baja kashor baja during the Dhunuchi nach.

One of the most important features of DNSK meets are the pictures, along with the catching up between friends old and new. The snaps at this meet featured larger-than-life props which are usually used in Durga Puja like Lokkhir jhapi, haatpakha and trishul (trident). The ladies also posed with a giant sankhya before a floral backdrop of red chrysanthemums. Snapshots from both the events.
