This year, the club took a conscious decision to “go green” with a unanimous decision to avoid fireworks

Diwali Night at the Dalhousie Institute is an ocassion for the members and their guests to get together to usher in the festive season. This year, on October 22, everyone came in their ethnic best and celebrated with food and music. This year, the club took a conscious decision to “go green” with a unanimous decision to avoid fireworks, to do their bit for the environment.

Instead of the crackers, the club was lit up with colourful lights and diyas and each member was welcomed with a tilak. Beautiful rangolis made by the ladies of the club added to the spirit of Diwali. The band Mosiqi with their leading singer Imran Qaisar filled the club with music for the soul. The band played Bollywood numbers such as Aaja aaja mai hoo pyar tera, Neele neele ambar par, London thumkada and more. The crowd sang along and danced to the groovy beats.

The club had lined up a great food spread with North Indian delicacies and kebabs and rolls. The night was a memorable one with people clicking pictures and sharing it with their loved ones.
