This exchange offered attendees a rare opportunity to delve deeper into the creative process behind ‘Rhythm and Intoxication’, enriching their understanding of the artistic vision and thematic nuances embedded within the piece
The conversation was conducted by Vikram Iyengar, director of Pickle Factory Kolkata. ‘The idea was to bring international-level contemporary dance to public spaces in Kolkata. They are focused on audience participation and taking the joy of dance to different audiences. This idea that CieLAROQUE brings through their performances falls perfectly with the ethos of Pickle Factory. And we want to take this to as many people as possible,’ he said
Audience members listened intently as the conversation unfolded. ‘It (the performance) was so playful, it felt like the energy and feeling we had as children playing games. The games had rules but always came up with something surprising. It was a very engaging evening,’ said Siddique Cowper (second from left)
