Foodka, steered by Mir, Indrajit Lahiri and Sunando Banerjee turned five on September 16 and the celebrations at Novotel Kolkata Hotel & Residences was marked by fun, frolic and loads of delectable bites. The food vlog that majorly discusses street food has had a steady fan following over the years. “The journey has been rocky considering that within these five years we have had two years of Covid. Not stepping out and having street food has been a huge panic point for us. Foodka and I, which is Indrajit Lahiri and I, our bonding, happened a year before 2017. When we started planning this, we were hell bent on going out and exploring food. Generally, people cover restaurants, that’s a sustainability model and we would do that as well, but we wanted to go out discover and taste street food primarily,” said Mir. “Expanding the horizons” and collaborations are on the cards. “We want to travel to cities and explore Bengali cuisine there.... It’s not about how long you have been in the business but how well-connected you are with the others in the business,” he said.

One of the main attractions at the party was of course the food and the spread was yummy. From Chicken Biryani and Basanti Pulao and Kosha Mangsho to Paturi, the foodies were in for a feast.
