“Kolkata Kiddathon was born as a fund-raising operation in 2015 and has become a larger-than-life kids’ event in the city today. Seeing the content and excited smiles on the faces of all the kids gives us the sense of doing something right and makes us do better each passing year. We as the organising team have nothing less than immense gratitude for Calcutta. It gives us the support we need to do good for the society at large. Dino World is all about different species of dinosaurs who are cute, strong, angry, big, small and with special powers. Kids of all age groups connect with them. Small kids even have collections of small dinosaurs at home. It is an evergreen theme which is always trending amongst kids,” said  Rishabh Saraogi, chairman of Calcutta South Round Table 17, and Ridhima Agarwal, chairperson of Calcutta Central Ladies Circle 27.

While the winter chill has already set foot and wrapped the city in a blanket of haze, Kolkata Kiddathon 2023 kicked off with a thoroughly warm spirit. Hosted at the sprawling acres of Eco Park in the early hours of December 3, this annual run event redefined the fun quotient of kids, besides addressing social causes and raising funds for various social issues. Defying the early morning chill, the event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of around 2,000 children and a footfall of around 5,000 people including children and their parents.

Aptly themed The Dino World, the Kiddathon comprised six categories of runs and one round of skating for children in the age group of six months to 16 years. The kids were also exposed to several other attractions like powerful Zumba sessions, an impressive stage show, games, sports
and not to miss lip-smacking food. This mega winter carnival had separate names for each of the run events inspired by the names of dinosaurs like T-Rex run, Steggie Run, Flying Dino, Dinon Star, Spinosaurus and Babysaurus. Each of the run events was preceded by an energetic Zumba session and the stage shows kept both children and parents grooving to the beats of peppy musical numbers like I Like to Move It, Imagine Dragons’s Bones, What Jhumka and much more.
