The Hawaiian-themed party, Aloha, at DI in association with The Telegraph was a complete fun and frolic event with food, dance, music, games and much more. Glowing decorations adorned the interiors of the club, and making it a complete Hawaiian affair were members dressed in Hawaiian costumes.

Hosts of the evening Alisha Alexander and Christabel D’Gama made sure to pump up the Hawaiian spirit. For Alisha, owner of Saldanha Bakery, and Christabel, an advertising professional, hosting the Hawaiian night was too much fun. “We’ve all grown up here, and the club has always been home. I love all the amazing events the committee has been coming up with,” says Christabel. Alisha also had a wonderful experience and can’t wait for the next event at DI. DJ Shakey made the ambience of the evening right. From Limbo Rock to Birdie Dance, revellers did shake to his unique musical numbers and made the most of the evening. Games like Hula Hoop Face-off and Limbo Dance kept revellers busy. While the former saw both the adults and kids participate in some fun moves, the latter turned out to be the highlight of the evening. Tanya Robinson, council member, Entertainment, said, “Members and guests had a great time. The dance floor was never empty and the partying went on till late into the night. DI used to traditionally have a Jamaican Night. This year we thought of doing something different so decided on a Hawaiian theme. Aloha is a word used as a greeting so we thought of having an evening which just celebrates a way of life.”
