The event began with the children of the foundation putting up a dance performance, after which parents joined in to sing and dance to hit numbers like Jamal Kudu, Tapa Tini etc

A play area kept the children engaged with fun games and drawing the streets while a person dressed up as a clown had tricks up his sleeves for visitors

Speaking about the carnival, Rajatava Dutta said: “It is a wonderful atmosphere here. I am amazed at the wonderful performances by the kids. It is a great opportunity for me to engage with teachers and parents who are great pillars of support to children with neurodiversity. I came here thinking if my presence gives them any motivation, I shall feel blessed”

The founder-director of Shumpun Foundation, Manjulika Mazumdar, told My Kolkata: “This is our second year of the carnival. Children enjoy it thoroughly and it is also an opportunity for us to create awareness among other people about neurodiversity”
