On the eve of Poila Baisakh, The Bengal Club organised Jugantokari Teen Kobi, an evening of music in association with The Telegraph, to welcome the Bengali New Year. The programme was presented by Dimension 4 and featured popular devotional and patriotic compositions by three legendary Bengali poet-lyricists — Dwijendralal Ray, Rajanikanta Sen and Atul Prasad Sen. The stirring and soulful melodies were performed by eminent singer Nupurchhanda Ghosh and her students in the form of solo and chorus performances. Artist Babita Das expressed the mood and melody of the evening with a vibrant painting on her canvas, done live before the audience. The programme was anchored by the co-chairperson of the Bengal Club entertainment committee, Sumit Ray. The concept and design was by Tinku Das. Glimpses.
