Calcutta Ladies Golf Club (CLGC) celebrated the festive season with Diwali Nite on November 17, in association with t2, at the Putting Lawn of the 132-year old club which has pioneered ladies’ golf in India. The expansive lawn was decorated with twinkling lights to match the festive mood as the members enjoyed the first taste of winter. The dress code for the evening was ethnic and silks for the ladies and bandhgalas for the men.

The mood was set by singer Sohini Roy Chowdhury and her recital was followed by a delightful dinner. “We celebrate Diwali as the lights set the tone for the festivities to come. The next few months are the best season for golf and outdoor parties. In this second edit of Diwali Nite, we decided to switch the mood with Hindustani dadra and thumri. Many of the popular Bollywood beats now lean heavily towards classical as the melody is rich and haunting and our members love the ambience,” said Captain Dhritipriya Raydasgupta of the Calcutta Ladies Golf Club.

Members of the club enjoyed a mouthwatering dinner which included Koraishutir Kochuri, Cholar Dal, and Ghondhoraj Chicken, to name a few dishes
