Organiser speak: “The aim of AWWA, Eastern Command, is to support and enhance the official welfare efforts within the Army, focusing especially on the welfare of families, children and widows of all ranks and retired personnel of the Army. To commemorate International Women’s Day 2023, Eastern Command AWWA is organising Abhyeti — an exhibition-cumsale of a variety of products made by our talented Army ladies. Abhyeti is Sanskrit for The Rising Sun, which is synonymous with the Eastern Command. Our steadfast families are a pillar of strength for our brave men located in far-flung and difficult areas and always maintain their cheer and high spirits so that the soldiers can give their best for the nation with full confidence. We are hopeful that together we can carve out new pathways of hope and confidence for ourselves, taking inspiration and confidence from our collective spirit of camaraderie and bonding that forms the basis of Army life,” said Nisha Kalita, regional president of AWWA, Eastern Command.
