The B.M. Verma Memorial Golf Championship 2023, held on October 11 at Tollygunge Club, marked a momentous day for junior golf in India, as it honoured the late B.M. Verma, a stalwart and advocate of junior golf over the past two decades. The event witnessed an exceptional display of talent and sportsmanship from young golfers across various age categories.

In the A & B Boys’ category, Arghya Shah emerged as the champion with a score of 88, closely followed by Aadiitya Ghosh, who secured the second position with a score of 89. In the B Boys’ category, Shah continued his impressive performance, securing the top spot. Sartaj Singh Chandok earned the second position in the B Boys’ category with a score of 94. The C Boys’ category witnessed intense competition, with Andrew Baid emerging as the champion with a score of 92. Armaan Bhoopal gave a commendable performance, finishing second with a score of 94.

In the C & D Girls’ category, Nahida Parvin showcased her golfing prowess, winning the championship with a score of 93. Naina Dinodiya secured the second position with a score of 102.

The youngest golfers, competing in the under-nine boys’ category, also showcased their talent. Parikshet More secured the top position in Category E Boys’ with a score of 40, while Shaurish Sen earned the second position with a score of 42. In the under-nine girls’ category, Aarya Jhunjhunwala demonstrated her promise and won with a score of 44. The special category was claimed by Rajdeep Paul, who posted a winning score of 48.
