On October 7 and 8, the picturesque Rhino Environmental Park and Training Area in Guwahati hosted the 13th leg of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) East Zone Amateur & Junior Feeder Tour, known as the Northeast Masters. The highly anticipated event witnessed the participation of over 50 talented individuals from various age categories.
Amandeep Kamboj emerged as the champion in the Amateur category, securing the title with a score of eight over par-148. Abhishek Mitra put up a valiant effort, claiming the second position with a score of nine over par-149. In the Mid-Amateur category, Mitra’s remarkable performance earned him the top spot, while Kartikeya Kukrety followed closely with a score of 155.
The Senior category saw the local favourite, Kalyan Sahu, clinch victory with a score of five over par-145, leaving S.N. Chowdhury as the runner-up with a score of 146. K. Indrajit secured the Super Senior title with a score of 163, followed by B.V. Srihari Rao with a score of 171.

The junior division showcased promising talent, with Maitreya Saikia, a local favourite, taking home the A & B Boys’ title with a score of 160. Arrham Jain exhibited impressive skills, finishing second in this category with a score of 168. Arrham Jain further excelled in the Category B Boys, securing the top position with the same score of 168, while Manan Bagrecha finished as the runner-up with a score of 172. In the Category C Boys, Hredaan Raj Bihani emerged victorious with a score of 159. Vir Nayar claimed the title in the Category D Boys with a score of 106, closely followed by Dhruv Patodia.

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Sanjeev Chopra, vice patron of REPTA; and Sanjeev Jaiswal, president of the Assam Golf Association. Both dignitaries presented the well-deserved prizes to the outstanding winners, congratulating them on their remarkable achievements. The tournament was a testament to the growing talent and passion for golf in the region. The event not only provided a platform for golfers to showcase their skills but also promoted the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among participants.
