Amaan Ali Khan evoked the charm of spring in the city through his sarod in a recent solo programme in Calcutta at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, presented by Senco Gold and Diamonds. The programme was a perfect portrayal of his parampara, the tradition, legacy and repertoire of illustrious Gwalior gharana of Indian classical music.

Amaan Ali Khan performed for almost three-and-a-half hours, playing compositions of five ragas, set to different beats. Amaan on sarod was accompanied by Anubrata Chattopdhyay as well as Ishaan Ghosh on tabla

The city witnessed an enthralling afternoon full of various colours of raga and rhythm by Amaan Ali Khan on sarod and Anubrata Chattopdhyay as well as Ishaan Ghosh on tabla. The beautiful frame was adorned with two equally large traditional floral alpona patterns done with 680kg of tuberoses. This decoration was a unique and amazing experience for the audience.Amaan proved his flawless inheritance through his performance by playing different compositions of five ragas, set to different beats. The variety of his performance with the vibrant tabla of Anubrata and Ishan overwhelmed the audience. Amaan played almost three-and-a-half hour at a stretch and painted a colourful musical canvas with different moods.
