Launch of Bengali translation of The Knight in the Tiger Skin, was high profile event

Arjun Kumar (left), honorary consul of Georgia in Calcutta, with Archil Dzuliashvili, ambassador of Georgia to India, at the launch of the Bengali translation of The Knight in the Tiger Skin, a 12th-century work by Georgian poet Shot’ha Rust’haveli, “a book customarily given to new brides... a book of morals and how to lead your life”, at Taj Bengal. The launch celebrated the ‘30th anniversary of formally established diplomatic relations between India and Georgia’. “It was a pleasure to host the ambassador for this occasion. He has been to Calcutta four to five times. This trip was mainly for the book launch,” said Arjun. The launch was followed by a luncheon, hosted by Arjun.
