Eyewear brand Carrera and Prowl, an active lifestyle brand by Tiger Shroff, have joined hands to come up with the Carrera x Prowl line of eyewear that’s stylish and smart. The War actor chatted with The Telegraph on the collaboration and why he loves sunglasses.
The collection looks wonderful. What was your starting point in terms of designing it?
I wanted to come up with something that would give out the message of both — style as well as athleisure and Carrera fits well with what was in my mind. I wanted to give something, especially to the youth who are always moving here and there, and I guess this collection of Carrera x Prowl just serves the purpose.
How did the collaboration come about?
Sunglasses play a very important role in my life. As I am an outdoor person who is very shy at the same time, it gives me the perfect window to face the public without feeling too conscious and I wanted to bring a product with which I can personally relate to. My association with Carrera is a very special one. Carrera is a brand that holds a great legacy and when the opportunity came to collaborate with a brand this was the first name that came to my mind. It’s a brand that I have admired and used since forever, therefore I chose to associate with a brand that resonates with me and my values and the youth of today.
This is something so new for you. How was the experience?
It was exciting. It was enlightening too as I learned so many things during this collaboration.
You love sunglasses. What did you learn about them in the process of putting together this collection?
Let me say Carrera has understood me well and I am understanding them as well. Carrera is not for everyone, you need attitude to wear it and I love that.
How many pairs do you own?
Honestly, I have uncountable pairs. I just love wearing them everywhere.
Do you have a favourite shape or style?
Oversized, geometrical shapes.
Coming to Prowl, what has been the experience like of being an entrepreneur?
Oh, it feels good. Of course, there’s a lot to look into when you become an entrepreneur, but the feeling is definitely good.
What are you living in this summer?
If given an option, I can always stay in my loose jeans and pyjamas along with sleeveless T-shirts.
A summer vacay on your mind would be...
I would say Maldives.
