100 pipers presents The Telegraph Calcutta Club Limited 31st Nite was a family affair

For the first time in the history of Calcutta Club, children were part of the New Year’s Eve celebration, making it a family affair and adding more joy to the parting night of 2022. Spicing up the mood was amazing dance numbers by Carlyta Mouhini and Arijit Mondal, convincing members and guests to let their hair down. The dinner was a feast and worth mentioning is the systematic arrangement for the same that ensured no overcrowding. The midnight moment was less fussy with all members welcoming the new year with a Rabindrasangeet.

World Billiards Champion Sourav Kothari also dropped by to spend the last night of 2022 with his friends at the club. “I am not a party animal and I generally don’t go partying on 31st for personal reasons. But this time I thought of spending the day differently,” said Kothari.

“This year we decided to make New Year’s Eve a family affair and hence allowed children as well.It has happened for the first time in the history of Calcutta Club. It’s important that children are part of the celebration with family,” said Pramit Kumar Ray, president of the club, accompanied by wife Sreya.

Since the party was open for kids, paper caps and whistles were distributed and the adults had fun with it too.

The midnight moment was quite different at Calcutta Club. The president along with members of the core committee and other guests climbed on the stage and led the crowd in singing  Rabindrasangeet.

Sip n Bite

The dinner was a lavish affair as promised. From a warm Leek Soup accompanied by assorted breads to an elaborate salad station with Greek and Italian salads to cold cuts, the starters were grand.

The mains had a mix of veg and non-veg options including Mexican Rice, Roast Mutton, Suckling Pig, Parsley Potatoes, Prawn with BBQ Sauce and Tomato-based Grilled Bekti.

Traditional desserts like Plum Cake and Orange Souffle brought an end to the lavish affair.
