The fervour of Durga Puja may have subsided, but the memories linger. The countless crowds that thronged the streets during the festive days were a testament to the magnitude of this grand Bengali celebration. However, it wasn't just the themed pandals or neighborhood pujas that captured attention; Kolkata's housing societies also showcased their creativity and devotion with innovative themes and meticulous planning.
This excitement was further amplified by Anandabazar Online’s ‘Abasaner Sinhasane’ 2024 — a competition to find the best Durga Puja celebration among Kolkata's housing societies. Over 200 pujas from Kolkata and Salt Lake participated. After a preliminary round where 20 societies were shortlisted, a distinguished panel of judges meticulously evaluated each to select the top 10.

Kankurgachi CIT Building Residents' Welfare Society (1-4) bagged the top winner's prize
Siddha Galaxia Phase 2 was declared the First Runner-Up
Utalika Efficiency and Comfort was awarded the Second Runner Up prize
Best Eco-Friendly Puja award went to Sarbajaya from Bhabani Allen Enclave
Avidipta 2 Puja Committee lit up the sky with digital magic and won the Digital Fireworks award
