The event saw a tie-up between Uddipani, a Park Circus-based club which organised its 83rd Park Circus Sarbojonin Durgotsav, and a Delhi-based tech start-up for the show
The organisers claimed that the show was comparable to the aerial dragon boat show held at Shenzen in China earlier this year. Technicians had been holding rehearsals for the past few days and the final rehearsal was held on Monday
‘It was like an aerial movie with 2-D and 3-D images. All the drones carried powerful red, blue and green LED lights and flew in a set pattern synchronised with music. The drones were controlled from a single computer,’ said a representative of BotLab Dynamics
During the Ravan Dahan part of the show, Lord Ram could be seen taking aim at the demon king with his bow and arrow up there in the sky
A ‘dhunuchi naach’ lent completeness to the show, which had been held up by technical glitches on Tuesday, was a huge success on Wednesday
The drones flew in perfect synchronisation over the Park Circus Maidan at a height of 200 metres. The organisers said the free-for-all show was their tribute of Durga Puja in Kolkata clinching the UNESCO heritage tag in 2021
