One of the victims in the Kalindi molestation and assault case on Thursday said there were at least five persons in the group that attacked them.
Police arrested a part-time electrician with criminal antecedentsin connection with the incident that took place on September 25.
The woman said they had been surrounded by a group of at least five persons, including a couple of women. “The women instead of stopping the men from hitting us and coming to our aid urged the men to hit us more, grope us and rape us. They even tried dragging me by my dupatta and I nearly choked,” she told The Telegraph.
Samir Bardhan,40, was picked up from near his home in Dum Dum. He has at least 10 criminal cases lodged against him.
A senior officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate said they were looking for Bardhan’s accomplices.
