Starmark celebrates its 25th year with a comics festival

On till December 15, the festival features numerous interesting workshops, talks and contests, aiming to engage book lovers and comic enthusiasts across all age groups

If you belong to the clan of Sheldon Cooper and his friends from The Big Bang Theory, there’s some good news for you this December! Starmark is celebrating its 25th year with Futurescape, a festival that’s a big delight for comic lovers in the city. Anchored in the South City Mall outlet of the bookstore, Futurescape will make everyone revisit and regale in the fascinating world of DC Comics, Marvel, Dark Horse, Vertigo and Manga. Check out the 525 imprints from DC, Marvel and Darkhorse that are being showcased, which range from Mike Mignola’s Hellboy to Brian Reed’s Halo and Neil Gaiman’s Sandman to the Evil Dead by Mark Verheiden. Additionally don’t forget to look for the hardbound copies of Amar Chitra Katha.

On till December 15, the festival features numerous interesting workshops, talks and contests, aiming to engage book lovers and comic enthusiasts across all age groups. Talks by various graphic novelists, artists and illustrators such as Harsho Mohan Chottoraj, Ananya Saha and Pinaki Dey will engage visitors, apart from multiple contests such as mask making, quiz and cosplay, which come with an array of exciting prizes. Also, don’t forget to check out a series of rare comic books, figurines and collectibles curated specially for the festival.
