Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal who appeared on Friday on behalf of WhatsApp India in Jharkhand High court in connection with regular hearing of judge Uttam Anand Murder case, promised data support vis-a-vis chat of one of the accused as sought by CBI for further investigation.
Sibal said that data of whatsapp chat as sought by CBI is available with them and they have no objection with regard to sharing the data with the investigating agency.
The submission was made by Sibbal in the High Court bench of Chief Justice, Ravi Ranjan and Justice, Sujit Narayan Prasad. The CBI was represented by Assistant Solicitor General of India, Prashant Pallav and his assistant Parth Jalan during the hearing.
Notably, during the previous weekly hearing of the case, CBI submitted that the WhatsApp Chat of one of the accused persons made after the death of Judge Uttam Anand would help them to probe further the case. The court during the hearing of March 26 made the country head of Whatsapp as defendant and directed the social media platform to provide the history of chat made by the accused persons as sought by CBI.
Earlier, on March 28, Amod Kumar Singh, Chief Scientist of CFSL Delhi while recording his statement before the special CBI court of Justice Rajnikant Pathak of Dhanbad said the detailed analysis of CCTV footages, crime scene profiling, 3D pictures images and psychological analysis report of the accused proves that 49 year old Additional district judge of Dhanbad, Uttam Anand was deliberately hit by the auto rickshaw.
The Dhanbad CBI court, after recording the statement of Singh directed the special public prosecutor of CBI, Amit Jindal to produce a witness in the case. Singh who was part of the team which recreated the crime scene at the site of incident near Randhir Verma Chowk of Dhanbad on August 7-8, 2021 in his statement before the court further said that he had already submitted the crime scene profiling report to CBI on August 17, last year.
Notably, Judge Uttam Anand died on July 28, 2021 when he was hit by an Auto Rickshaw near his house in Dhanbad at around 5.05 am while he was on a regular morning trip.
Police arrested two persons including, auto driver, Lakhan Verma and his accomplice Rahul Verma on July 29 in connection with the case and handed them over to CBI as CBI took over the investigation of the case on August 4, 2021 after registering an FIR as per state government recommendation.
