Heavy vehicles will be barred from the capital from 6am to 10pm in the wake of Republic Day celebrations at Morabadi where governor Droupadi Murmu will hoist the national flag at 9am.
Traffic personnel will stop heavy vehicles at seven entrances of the capital.
These are Boreya at Kanke, Birsa Chowk on Ranchi-Khunti Road, Kathal More on Ranchi-Lohardaga Road, Pandra on Ranchi- Palamau Road, ITI Bus Stand on Gumla-Ranchi Road, Chandni Chowk on Patratu-Ranchi Road, Booty Mor on Ramgarh–Ranchi Road and Kokar Chowk on Jamshedpur-Ranchi Road.
Apart from stopping heavy vehicles, steps have been taken to regulate vehicles that would reach the R-Day venue.
No vehicle without the Ranchi district administration’s pass will be allowed to run on Radium Road, which links Main Road with Morabadi grounds. Vehicles without passes from Main Road towards Morabadi grounds will be diverted to Jail Chowk.
No vehicles will be allowed to run on the stretch between Karam Toli Chowk and the DC’s residence. Vehicles towards DC residence from Bariatu will be diverted towards Jail Chowk from Karam Toli Chowk.
Vehicles with white passes (VVIPs) will be parked behind the main stage. For orange passes, parking will be beside the west gallery. For green passes, parking is beside the army ground.
Masses coming to Morabadi grounds to watch the flag hoisting will have to park their vehicles on the football ground near Jharkhand Tribal Welfare and Research Institute, SP (traffic) Ajit Peter Dungdung said.
