An attempt is allegedly being made to pass off the murder of three people as a road accident in Palamau’s non-descript road at Adhmaniya, about 21 km away from Daltonganj. According to SP Palamau Ajay Linda, this gory incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon. A head on collision was allegedly staged between a four wheeler (Bolero) and a bike. All the three occupants of the bike died. Two died on the spot and one in Mission Hospital at Tumbagara on NH 75.

The four wheeler overturned, too, but its occupants disappeared from the scene. SP Linda said, “This disappearance of the occupants of the four wheeler arouses suspicion. Their vehicle had overturned, right? They could also have been hurt but they vanished into thin air. The collision looks foul, planned, pre-meditated,” reiterated Linda.

Quoting SDPO Anup Kumar Baraik, SP Linda said, “ The occupants of the four wheeler were Cheros while the three on the bike were Oraons. Both are tribal communities.”

“The Chero family and the Oraon family had a long standing land dispute. On Tuesday morning the two families were up in arms against each other,” said Linda.

Among the three killed were two brothers and their mother, who have been identified as Kalawanti Kuarn, Sanjay Oraon, and Binod Oraon.

State minister hunts for mushroom inside roadside bush

Love can take you miles, often inside deep jungles. At least that’s what has happened to state education minister Jagarnath Mahto. Love for mushroom curry drove Mahto inside wild bushes of a roadside jungle on Tuesday.

Like a kid, Mahto descended inside the bushes leaving behind his bodyguards and started searching for mushrooms, which grow in dense bushes especially in monsoon. Locals here call it Khukris.

Few people, who were passing by stopped seeing Mahto inside the bushes. The bodyguards requested him to return as they feared that poisonous snakes or other insects might bite him. But it was only after almost an hour when Mahto collected 30-35 mushroom sticks did he come out of the jungle, with a victorious smile on his face.

“Nothing can change my love for Khukri, which is found only during monsoon. Curry of this Khukri with rice is the best combination anyone can ever have. I used to wait a whole year for it. I was missing it this year. Seeing the bushes I thought I would definitely find it here. Tonight’s dinner is sorted,” an excited Mahto told The Telegraph online.
