Four days after the visit of a team of Juvenile Justice Committee of Jharkhand High Court to the Child Reformatory of Dhanbad during which it took stock of the facilities of the center, a team of Rotary Club Dhanbad today visited the reformatory and provided sports gadgets, including carrom board sets, chess boards, Ludo sets, etc to the over 40 delinquents.

The team, led by the President of Rotary club of Dhanbad Rajiv Goel, reached the reformatory this afternoon at around 2 pm also distributed fruits among the inmates of the reformatory.

Notably, the Child Reformatory of Dhanbad lying at Bhuda is devoid of several key facilities, and the delinquents during the interaction with the chairman of the Juvenile Justice Board Sachidanand Tripathi raised these issues.

Tripathi assured to fulfill all the shortcomings at the earliest and also instructed the district officials to send a list of requirements of the reformatory at the earliest so that steps to fulfill such shortcomings can be fulfilled.

Speaking during the occasion, Goel, who was accompanied by other office-bearers of the club, Rahul Vyas, Secretary of Rotary Club, Dhanbad; Kanwal Bali, Treasurer, and others said “We organized the function on the occasion of 117th foundation day of Rotary Club which was first established, in 1905 at Chicago in America with aim providing service of humanity.”

"Today, altogether 35,000 branches of the club are operating across the world with over 1.2 million members working ceaselessly for establishing social harmony and upliftment of the standard of life,” said Goel.

Rotary club is working for the eradication of polio and has secured 99.99% success. It is also working for providing clean and safe drinking water and also quality education for which various projects are being carried out.
