Snake catcher Mithilesh Srivastava rescued a bronzeback snake found inside the headlight cover of a motorcycle at Raju Bagan in Kitadih locality on Wednesday.

Mithilesh rushed to the spot when informed about the serpent inside the motorcycle’s headlight cover. “It took me half-an-hour to rescue the non-venomous snake. I had to open the compartment of the headlight before bringing it out,” he said.

The motorcycle owner, a resident of Kitadih, spotted the snake in the afternoon and informed Mithilesh, who lives in the Bagbera locality.

A few days back Mithilesh had also treated an injured snake in Bagbera.

“Someone had injured the rat snake. I spotted it and brought it home, administered medicine and wrapped a bandage around the wound. I kept the non-venomous snake for a couple of days before releasing it in a jungle after the injury showed signs of healing. My job is to save snakes and also save people from snakes,” Mithilesh said.
