A six-member team from the Jharkhand government visited the groundwater treatment facility in the Jashpur forest division of Chhattisgarh on Tuesday.
The team included panchayat and rural development department secretary Chandrasekhar; chief conservator of forest research Siddharth Tripathi; MGNREGA commissioner of Jharkhand Rajeshwari B; MGNREGA state programme officers Rajiv Ranjan and Nihar Ranjan and MGNREGA assistant engineer Prem Shekhar Gupta.
“The Jharkhand team appreciated the groundwater treatment-related work after inspecting the site. A significant number of Narva development projects for groundwater treatment are being carried out in the remote forest areas under the CAMPA (compensatory afforestation fund management and planning authority which promotes afforestation and regeneration activities) scheme,” a Chhattisgarh forest official said.
“Team of senior officials from Jharkhand, associated with MGNREGA, conducted an inspection in the Lodam beat of the Jashpur forest area and visited the Narva Jamjharia canal which was constructed at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore for soil treatment and conservation,” principal chief conservator of forest (PCCF) V. Srinivas Rao said.
