East Central Railway has announced cancellation, diversion and rescheduling of more than twelve trains on Grand chord section of Howrah-New Delhi Railway line on three different dates including on January 30, February 10 and February 22 for the construction of a new railway under bridge in Katras area near Katras Goshala pul.
As per the detailed plan released to the media by PK Mishra, public relation officer of Dhanbad division of East Central Railway, traffic and power block would be carried out for construction on these three days..
Three pairs of trains including, Asansol Gaya Asansol MEMU train (03545-46), Asansol Varanasi Asansol MEMU Train (03553/03554) and Burdwan Hatia Burdwan MEMU (03503/03504) would remain canceled on January 30 while Howrah Kolkata Jammu Tawi Express (12351) would be rescheduled for 40 minutes from Howrah on same day.
The diverted trains on January 30 included Poorva Express (12381)which instead of running on Asansol-Dhanbad-Gaya-Mughalsarai (Deendayal Upadhyay) route will ply on Asansol Jhajha Patna-Mughalsarai route. Similarly Jammutawi Kolkata Express (13152) will ply on Mughalsarai Patna Jhajha Asansol route instead of normal route of Mughalsarai-Gaya-Dhanbad-Asansol. Lal Kuan Howrah Express (123540) will also ply on Mughalsarai-Patna- Jhajha- Asansol route instead of its normal route of Mughalsarai-Gaya-Dhanbad- Asansol route.
As per the schedule on February 10 the same three trains including Asansol Gaya Asansol MEMU train (03545-46), Asansol Varanasi Asansol MEMU Train (03553/03554) and Burdwan Hatia Bardwan MEMU (03503/03504) would remain canceled while Kolkata Jammutawi (13167) express would be reschedule for 40 minutes from Howrah while Kolkata Agra Cantt. Express would be rescheduled for around 90 minutes from Calcutta.
The diverted trains for January 10 included Poorva Express (12381)which instead of running on Asansol-Dhanbad-Gaya-Mughalsarai (Deendayal Upadhyay) route will ply on Asansol Jhajha Patna-Mughalsarai route. Similarly Jammutawi Kolkata Express (13152) will ply on Mughalsarai Patna Jhajha Asansol route instead of Mughalsarai-Gaya-Dhanbad-Asansol route.
This apart West Bengal Sampark Kranti Express (12330) will be diverted on Mughalsarai-Patna Jhajha Asansol route instead of its normal route of Mughalsarai-Gaya-Dhanbad-Asansol route.
On February 22 also three trains including Asansol Gaya Asansol MEMU train (03545-46), Asansol Varanasi Asansol MEMU Train (03553/03554) and Burdwan Hatia Burdwan MEMU (03503/03504) would remain canceled while Sealdah Jammu Tawi express (13151) would be rescheduled for 40 minutes. Apart from this West Bengal Sampark Kranti Express (12329) would be rescheduled for 30 minutes.
The diverted trains on January 22 included Poorva Express (12382) which will be diverted on Mughalsarai Patna Jhajha Asansol route, while Jammu Tawi Kolkata Express will be diverted on same route. Bikaner Sealdah AC Duronto Express will also be diverted on Mughalsarai Patna Jhajha Asansol route.
Notably the Railway under bridge construction near the Katras Goshala pul was long due and railway has already began the process of civil work as per which RCC box segments have been developed.
