Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon the masses in poll-bound state of Jharkhand for “parivartan” (change) to ensure the safety of ‘roti, beti, mati’ (bread, daughter and land).
Addressing a rally on Wednesday at Hazaribagh to mark the closure of the Parivartan Yatra (launched on September 20 by Union home minister Amit Shah and travelled across all the 81 assembly constituencies of Jharkhand and attended by several union ministers and chief ministers of BJP-ruled states), Modi did not term it as a political rally.
“The Parivartan Yatra taken out by BJP is not just a fight to regain power in Jharkhand, but a fight and a sankalp yatra to save the daughters of Jharkhand, its soil and bread of the common masses,” said Modi.
“I want to guarantee that within a few months when we form a government in Jharkhand the safety of these three will be ensured. A new dawn of change will begin in the state with today’s Parivartan Sabha,” said Modi.
Terming the ruling coalition of JMM-Congress and RJD as the biggest obstacle in the progress of Jharkhand, Modi said, “Only when the Hemant Soren government is removed from here, there will be a change in Jharkhand. The government, sensing its time of departure, has increased the speed of corruption by indulging in transfer posting of officials which has attained industry status in the state.”
“On the one hand, the central government is working hard day and night for the development of Jharkhand, on the other hand, the Jharkhand government is engaged in derailing the development of Jharkhand. Jharkhand will move forward only when this government is removed. Jharkhand will move forward only when there is a change here,” stressed Modi.
He also accused the state government of carrying out corruption even in the schemes of the Centre.
“They are swindling the money meant for the ration of the poor. There is corruption in the Jal Jeevan Mission. Hundreds of crores are recovered from the hideouts of Congress leaders here. Crores of rupees are also recovered from the houses of the servants of the leaders here,” said Modi, apparently hinting at the cash haul from the domestic servant to the personal secretary of former Congress minister Alamgir Alam (now in judicial custody).
