The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin, 40, a resident of Shastrinagar in Kadma; Mohammed Salim Ansari, 26, a resident of Bistupur; and Satyendra Dubey, 55, a resident of Road No. 13 in Adityapur Colony.

Officer in-charge of Kadma police station, Vinay Kumar, said Nizamuddin had been run over by an unidentified vehicle while he was returning home to Shastrinagar in Kadma on his cycle.

“When we reached the spot, we found him lying in a pool of blood. We are trying to detect the killer vehicle,” Kumar said.

The two fatal accidents on Jugsalai-Bistupur road happened within a gap of 10 hours.

Salim was killed on the spot when his bike hit the road divider earlier in the afternoon.

Officer in-charge of Jugsalai police station, Nitya Nand Mahto, said Salim hit the road divider when he abruptly swerved to his right to avoid collision with a car coming from the opposite direction.

“We rushed Salim and his two friends, who were riding pillion, to Kantilal Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where the doctors declared Salim brought dead. The two other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital,” the Jugsalai OC said.

The third accident happened around 11.30 pm on Sunday when Satyendra was returning home to Adityapur from Tatanagar with his brother-in-law Amrendra Pandey, 40, riding pillion on his bike.

“While negotiating the Jugsalai-Bistupur stretch, he deviated from the course and rammed into the divider. Both Satyendra and Amrendra, who were without helmets, sustained grievous head injuries. We rushed both of them to Tata Main Hospital, where Satyendra was declared brought dead. Amrendra is still undergoing treatment,” Mahto told The Telegraph.
