Katrasgarh, Dumari resident Rajesh Oraon, 40, and auto-rickshaw driver Samim Ansari, a resident of Thakurchak, were killed when Ansari’s vehicle turned turtle on NH-2 near Barkitard in Giridih on Monday afternoon, Dumari sub-divisional police officer Niraj Kumar said.
‘Dowry death’ cry
Anjali Devi, 20, was found dead at her residence in Nawadih, around 35km from the district headquarters, on Monday. Markachho police station officer in-charge Shiv balak Yadav said the body was on a bed with marks on the neck and bloodstains near the nose. Police lodged an FIR after Anjali’s mother said that her daughter was being tortured for dowry.
Cuffs on killer son
Chhotrai Hansda, 21, was arrested on Monday for allegedly beating his father to death at Lakhiposh village under Rajnagar police station area of Seraikela-Kharsawan district, around 22km from here. Police said Chhotrai became enraged when his father, Bahadur Hansda, refused to give him money to visit a fair.
Chain snatch
Two motorcycle-borne criminals snatched a gold chain from a woman riding pillion on her husband’s scooter near Bari Maidan under Sakchi police station area on Monday evening. The victim, a resident of Chandravali Complex in Kashidih, was returning home from Bistupur.
Body found
Kalai Munda, 36, a security guard with Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), was found hanging by a gamchha (towel) from a rod at a check post in Dahibari colliery of Chanch Victoria area of BCCL on Monday morning. Nirsa police have stared a probe.
