Bihar and UP bound passengers planning to reach their respective places during Holi may have to face difficulty as Railway has announced cancellation and short temination of several trains on different dates between March 9 to 19 in view of ongoing construction of third line between Prayagraj Cheoki station and Naini junction and also in view of the ongoing integration of new Karchana station with Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor.
Majority of cancelled trains are long distance trains running between Bengal and Uttar Pradesh.
Notably , the eastern dedicated freight corridor of 1839 km being constructed between Ludhina in Punjab and Dankuni in Bengal via Khujra in Uttar Pradesh will pass through several stations of Uttar Pradesh, including Prempur, Karchana, Jeognathpur, Mughalsarai (Deen Dayal Upadhayay).
The cancelled trains included, Anand Vihar Terminal Madhupur Express (22466) On March 9; Patna Mumai CSMTSuvidha Express (82355) on March 9 and 14;Kamakhya Mumbai LTT AC Super Fast Express (12520) and Madhupur Anand ViharTerminal Express (22465) on March 10; Mumbai CSMT Suvidha Express (82356) on March 11 and 15; Deekshabhoomi Express (11045) on March 11; Surat Bhagalpur Express (22947) and Anand ViharTerminal Gaya Express (22410) on March 12; Mumbai LTT-Kamakhya AC Super Fast Express (12519) and Gaya Anand Vihar Terminal Express (22409) on March 13; Bhagalpur Surat Express (22947) and Deekshabhoomi (11046) March 14.
This apart othertrains including Sealdah Ballia Express (13105) will remain short terminated on March 17 and 18 as instead of Ballia it would go up to Chhapra only while on March 18 and 19 Ballia Sealdah Express (13306) will start journey for Sealdah from Chhapra instead of Ballia.
Virendra Kumar, Chief Public Relation Officer of East Central Railway during a press communiqué issued on Wednesday, said, "Due to non interlocking work being carried out at Prayagraj Cheoki Railway station for the commissioning of third line between Prayagraj Cheoki and Naini Junction several trains have been cancelled."
