An unidentified biker died in a road accident on Ratu-Thakurgaon Road under Ratu police station area on Sunday. The biker, who did not have his helmet on, was hit by a car. The body has been taken to RIMS, Bariatu.
Bill protest
Family members of a patient, Ravindra Prasad Singh, who died in the course of his treatment for brain haemorrhage at the Asian Jalan Memorial Superspeciality Hospital, on Sunday staged a demonstration on the hospital premises charging authorities with keeping the deceased man in the intensive care unit several hours after his death in order to inflate his medical bills. The hospital administration, however, denied these allegations.
Liquor mini-plant
Acting on a tip-off, state excise officials on Sunday unearthed a liquor manufacturing “mini-factory” by raiding a house at Chhayanagar in Sitaramdera . The excise team seized duplicate IMFL worth over Rs 2 lakh and a large quantity of materials used in making liquor.

Fatal mishap
A 65-year-old woman was killed and a man was admitted to CCL hospital with grievous injuries after being hit by a dumper truck while crossing a road near Gayatri Colony on Saturday night.
6 robbers nabbed
District police on Saturday night busted an inter-state gang of robbers by arresting six of its members. One pistol, three daggers, a live cartridge, five mobiles, a motorcycle, silver ornaments and Rs 2,480 were recovered from them.

The 23rd East Zone Tennikoit Championship, which was slated to be held from March 20-22 at Dhatkidih community centre ground, has been postponed following the outbreak of coronavirus. Wife killed
Police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old man, Bandai Angaria, who had killed his wife Parvati Angaria at Goelkera in West Singhbhum district on Saturday evening. The police said Parvati had opposed the accused’s habit of consuming excessive liquor. Furious on being asked not to drink, Bandai picked up a stick and kept hitting his wife, causing her to die on the spot.
