Jamshedpur: State epidemiologist Dr Praveen Kumar Karn on Saturday said that out of a total 179 samples sent either to RIMS (Ranchi) and MGM (Jamshedpur) for Covid-19 test, 175 were negative while four results were awaited.
No meat ban
In a letter to the director general of police, state agriculture and animal husbandry secretary Pooja Singhal informed on March 28 that there was no ban on selling meat, chicken, eggs and fish and animal and poultry feed during the current lockdown and requested the DGP to direct police stations not to object to opening of stalls selling those.
Food distribution
Deputy commissioner Mukesh Kumar and superintendent of police Sujata Kumari Veenapani on Saturday visited the remote areas of Gomia block and distributed food grains among the needy. They distributed grains, chura and gur at Chaliatand village of Badki Chindari panchayat and in Chatro Chatti village area. The DC listened to the problems of the villagers and asked them to contact the administration if they faced any problem.

Councillors help
Ward councillors on Saturday started distributing food and grocery items among those who are poor and have no ration card. The mayor had provided Rs 10,000 to each of the 53 councillors for the work three days ago.
