Dhanbad based Civil services examinees of Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) have welcomed Wednesday's Jharkhand High Court decision of cancelling the 6th JPSC merit list.

All this, as some of the candidates who could not qualify for the examination conducted by JPSC held the erroneous process of merit list preparation adopted by JPSC for their failure to qualify the examination

“This victory is dedicated to a large number of candidates who fought the legal battles in court without being disheartened after struggling for four five years,” said Sumant Kumar, one of the candidates who missed to qualify the examination.

“We are expecting that the government will soon implement the decision given by the double bench of the high court” said Kumar and added that the victory has sent the message loud and clear that one must oppose the wrong and keep on fighting till the end.

“Following the preparation of the fresh list hundreds of such candidates who could not qualify in the examination despite performing well will be benefitted” said SK Singh another candidate of Dhanbad who also appeared in the examination but could not qualify.

Vibhash Kumar, one of the candidates of Dhanbad who appeared for the preliminary examination and later also appeared in main examination held in 2018 and the interview conducted in 2020 but could not qualify, said, "Several candidates who qualified have not secured the minimum 40% marks in different papers as JPSC adopted erroneous process of merit list preparation by calculating the overall marks of all papers, ignoring the failure to secure the minimum marks to qualify in each paper"

He also pointed out as JPSC included Hindi and English paper marks while calculating the overall marks, several of undeserving candidates found place in merit list on the basis of Hindi and English paper marks which are only qualifying in nature.
