Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday announced to hold this year’s matric and intermediate exams through offline mode from March 24. The matriculate exams will conclude on April on 20, and intermediate will be over on April 25. Practicals for intermediate exams will be held from March 3 to 22.
According to the date sheet issued by the examination conducting body today, both matric and intermediate exams will be held in two shifts for both term 1 and II.
“Matric exam will be held from 9.45 am to 1.05 pm. Both terms 1 and II will be jointly held during this three hours this time. Students will have to appear term 1 from 9.45am-11.20am on OMR sheet and term II paper will be 11.25am-1.05pm,” said an official.
Similarly, intermediate exam is slated from 2pm-5.20pm. “Term I will be from 2pm-3.35pm and term II will begin immediately from 3.40pm-5.20pm,” he added.
According to the notification, JAC will distribute question papers 15 minutes prior to the students before the start of the exam to help them go through the paper at ease. About admit card, JAC official said that matric student can download them from their website (www.jac.jharkhand.gov.in) from March 1 while intermediate students can do so from February 28 onwards. Roughly around seven lakh students are expected to appear for both the exams this year.
Notably, JAC had to cancel inter and matric exams after scheduling it from June in the wake of covid-19 pandemic. It however published the results of both matric and intermediate examination on the formula of 80:20 marking pattern as part of which 80 percent score was given based on students past performance in ninth or eleventh class and rest 20 percent was based on practical exam or internal assessment by respective schools.
