After the unseasonal showers caused by cyclone Jawad, get set to brace the cold.

IMD's Ranchi Meteorological Centre on Monday issued an alert forecasting at least a four-degree fall in minimum temperature in the next 72- hours.

"The impact of cyclone Jawad has waned. The cloud cover over Jharkhand will gradually reduce and this will plummet the night readings," said Abhishek Anand, head of Ranchi Meteorological Centre adding that the crisp northerly wind would dominate over Jharkhand from tomorrow.

Statistics revealed light rain that occurred at isolated places over Jharkhand during the past 24 hours, due to the impact of cyclone Jawad which moved towards the neighbouring Bengal coast.

The highest amount of rainfall, 15.4 mm, was recorded at Ghatsila in East Singhbhum district. Jamshedpur recorded around 14 mm rain while Ranchi recorded 8 mm.

The Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of early morning fog and mist during the next 48- hours.

Ranchi and its adjoining areas recorded a minimum temperature of around 16 degree Celsius on Monday. Weathermen said the minimum reading is expected to drop to around 12 degrees in the next 72 hours.
